Official Google Blog: You've got gadget mail

Official Google Blog: You've got gadget mail Well - I have iGoogle - I've had the personalised homepage for a long time, and found it very useful, but recently the 'select theme' link does not work, and I cannot add gadgets to my homepage, whether already-made or now made by me - this is still true, so I am still waiting for a fully operative iGoogle. At least I didn't lose my home page - touch wood! Joy

Catching up!

W A Thompson was an Anglican missionary in Nigeria in the early 20th century; this is to remind me to work on my site about Black Anglican clergy in the late 19th century!

web site update

I have worked on three sites in recent months, and their URLS are below:
http://jamaicanhistorymonth2007.moonfruit.com/ http://www.joyousjam.com/earthquake1907/index.html http://joyousjamtoo.moonfruit.com/ (about Christmas past in Jamaica)
However at the moment I am at a standstill with work on web sites. I am so appalled that we live in an island where a significant sector of the population seems to believe it is OK for a mob of people to set on, attempt to beat and if possible kill someone they suspect of something - in this case of being gay, though it could be almost anything - that I really feel that putting up web sites on positive aspects of Jamaica's history is something out of my own private cloud-cuckoo-land - what's the point?????

my next web site

I'm working on a new site for February 2007 Jamaican History Month, which will give brief biographies of 28 Jamaicans from the 18th to the 20th centuries who went out into the world and did interesting things. This is a kind of follow up to the site I did in 2004 -
http://www.joyousjam.info/jamaicanhistoryfebruary2004/
That site needs a bit of work now, but it is still worth checking out. I figure that every Jamaican family has interesting stories to tell, and they should be told!

Current projects

At present I am working on projects for hardcopy publications, so my websites are not receiving adequate attention. I hope to be able to return to my web sites next month. joyousjam
